What are the fillers made of?
Our range of dermal fillers are all classed as temporary (HA) Hyaluronic Acid fillers. (HA) Hyaluronic Acid is a naturally occurring substance found in our in our body which helps to hydrate and add volume to our skin. Our bodies naturally brake down and is replace our own Hyaluronic Acid however this process tends to slow with age leading to less moisture and volume loss.
How long is the appointment?
The injection process itself will usually take 20-30 mins, depending on amount of filler being used and the areas to be treated. There will also be a period of consultation to gain consent and skin preparation before hand. We offer all patients a free review 2-4 weeks after treatment.
Do the injections hurt?
Topical anaesthetic cream can be applied for your comfort and to minimise any potential injection pain however this is often not required as all our range of fillers contain Lidocaine anaesthetic within the filler itself. The Lidocaine combined with our highly skilled injector’s smooth technique with help provide a comfortable experience.
When can I expect to see results?
Results are immediate with dermal fillers. Some extra swelling may develop for a few days but usually settles very quickly giving wonderful results.
Are there any side effects?
Following any filler injection you may show slight redness or swelling. As with any skin injection there is a small risk of bleeding, bruising or infection at the injection site. Our Doctor will discuss any other potential risks based on your medical history.
How long do the results last?
The majority of patients find that results can last 12-18 months (closer to 24 months for the cheeks) however this depends on a number of factors.
